I was born in 1952, I have been married for since 1976, my one and only daughter was born in 1987. We live in the greater San Francisco Bay area and we have lived here since 1977.
I love to read I read just about anything fiction my favorites are manga, science fiction, fantasy, murder mysteries, and historical. I have read science fiction since I was in elementary school Asimov, Norton, and Heinlein. I read it when it was still considered trash. I suppose you could say I started reading Manga when I was reading comic books they are really quite different true but adults who read manga also read comic books when they were children. My daughter introduced me to the actual manga and I have never looked back.
I love nonfiction it's a great way to learn without going to school. I have taught myself how to; make cheese, bake bread, use computers, tie animal balloons, make a huge bubble wand, gardening, cook various ethnic foods; Japanese, Chinese, Ethiopian, Spanish, Italian and Cajun (my favorites)
My daughter and I go to the Fanime con in San Jose '08 is the first year we have missed since 2000. I make our costumes for cos-play next year if every thing goes right I'm going as Eroica.
